MEET MARGIE

Originating from a close-knit, extensive family in Wilmington, Massachusetts, my upbringing was filled with joy despite the financial hardships we faced. My father endeavored to provide for our family of nine, while my mother contributed through substitute teaching. Although financial luxuries were scarce, our lives were enriched with love from both family and friends. They were always ready to lend a hand to those in need.

Hard work was a principle deeply ingrained in us from an early age. Following my father's job loss, he embarked on a new venture by opening a family-operated restaurant in Wilmington. This endeavor became a family project, teaching us the value of hard work and the saying, "To eat, you must work."

My childhood was memorable, filled with learning and community spirit, which I fondly reflect upon with friends online. My passion for learning and reading propelled me through school and into a nursing career, driven by a desire to alleviate suffering. Self-funding my education, I worked in various nursing roles before pursuing law in the 1990s, aiming to address healthcare policy issues.

Since completing law school in 1996, my career has focused on healthcare improvement, culminating in significant work with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.

Now, I seek a seat in the US Senate. Why? Because, why not me? Observing the decline in political integrity and the erosion of core American values, I refuse to remain on the sidelines. With my background and resolve, I am ready to contribute to meaningful change.
